Looking for a call center job?  If you are wondering where to find a call center in your area please have a look at our call center directory page.

Most call center interviews will also include a couple tests to measure competency in a few key areas. It would be wise to expect and prepare for the following tests:

Number Perception and Number Series – These tests usually deal with completing patterns like 2,4,6,_,_, or comparing two long numbers (45367 and 43576) to determine if they are a match: you’ll notice that the two numbers are close but not the same. These tests are pretty simple and straight forward, yet surprisingly, they cause much difficulty to many applicants. This is usually due to the fact that the interviewee didn’t not expect the tests and isn’t mentally prepared. Most people can easily pass these types of tests if they expect them and are prepared.

Typing Test - The key to a good typing test is relaxing so you don’t make too many mistakes. Mistakes cost valuable time. If you are a bit rusty with your typing skills practice on your word processor. You can also search on Google for timed typing tests. Most Call Centers will want to see a minimum score of 30 WPM.

Spelling – This is usually part of the typing test. Once again, the best advice is to relax and not go too fast. Usually they want to see less then 3 errors.

Personality Profile – There are many types of personality tests. The goal is to give the interviewer insight into your personality. Are you introverted or extraverted? Are you perceptive or judging? Are you a doer or a thinker? Usually the company will have a range of profiles that they feel will help a person be successful in the position. The most weight is usually given to those that are doers. Call Centers seek after those people that can handle the customers quickly and concisely. Too much over-thinking will usually slow the employee down.
