The best way to ensure that you will have unlimited career potential in the field of Information Technology is to get certification demonstrating your knowledge and proficiency with certain networking products. Cisco certifications are a testimony to a networking professional's drive to remain knowledgeable and skillful in all of the products that Cisco offers.
Cisco certifications are classes and programs that culminate in the testing of proficiency in working with Cisco networking products. Once the classes are taken and the tests, given by Prometric and Vue, are passed, certification certificates are earned. This can mean a lot of potential for career growth!
There are three levels of Cisco certification: Associate, Professional, and Expert. Each level builds on the knowledge and skill from the level before, and each level requires a more focused demonstration of knowledge and ability.
Associate Level
* CCNA - Cisco Certified Network Associate, which covers small office certification for LAN's (Local Area Netwroks), WAN's (Wide Area Networks), and dial-up equipment in networks that contain less than 100 nodes. This is the most commonly achieved level of Cisco certification.
Professional Level
* CCNP - Cisco Certified Network Professional, which covers medium-sized networks between 100 and 500 nodes. There are four tests to pass in order to earn certification, and recertification must occur every three years. * CCIP - Cisco Certified Internetwork Proefssional, which covers end-to-end protocols in larger network systems.
Expert Level
* CCIE - Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert, which is the highest level of Cisco certification. This level of certification requires testing, in addition to practical lab work. There are several tracks to choose from, including routing and switching, security, voice, service provider, and storage networking.
Getting your Cisco Career certification gives you unlimited career possibilities in the IT field. Your certification and recertification shows your dedication to your professional, as well as your knowledge of all the current trends in the IT field. Cisco certification can be the best thing you do for your career!
