If you are an IT professional that works with the myriad of Oracle products, one of the wisest career moves you can make is to receive an Oracle certification. Not only will you learn more about the products and applications that Oracle offers, but you will prove your technical and practical knowledge of Oracle applications, which can be an enormous boost to your career.
As a certified Oracle professional, you have the ability to provide invaluable service to any organization that utilizes the multitude of Oracle products. You will have the ability to implement, manage, and troubleshoot various Oracle applications, as well as provide service in critical situations.
There are three levels of basic Oracle certification.
* OCA (Oracle Certified Associate) - This certification is ideal for IT professionals who have a basic foundation of knowledge and experience working as website and database administrators and managers. Seen as a good starting point for the IT professional, this certification broadens the horizons of entry-level IT jobs available. * OCP (Oracle Certified Professional) - A stepping-stone certification, this level of achievement is geared toward IT professional with more experience working with and developing more extensive Oracle database products. * OCM (Oracle Certified Master) - An IT professional who achieves this level of certification is seen as a total expert in developing and maintaining any Oracle database system. They are viewed as critical members of an IT team, and require a great deal of practical experience before achieving this level.
Oracle certifications can be earned through Oracle's own "Oracle University", who offer training locations around the world. Through comprehensive courses and testing, Oracle insures that the IT professional seeking Oracle certification not only knows the Oracle applications in and out, but also has the ability to translate that knowledge into practical application.
As with any professional certification, an Oracle certification is a ticket to greater professional achievement. It is a testament to the knowledge, skill, and determination of the IT professional. It is also confirmation to any organization that uses Oracle applications that their Oracle certified professionals possess the most up-to-date and complete knowledge of the products, and the ability to effectively develop and maintain them.
